Homer Elementary School embraced Healthy Heart/Wellness Month with a school-wide wellness challenge. Each class developed a classroom healthy/fitness SMART goal aimed to encourage more movement during the school day and establish lifelong healthy habits.

The Homer Wellness Adventure collaboration was honored with a 2017 Turning Point Community Champion Award. The Turning Point Community Champion Award Program recognizes initiatives, projects or events in Oklahoma that contribute to health improvement and quality of life in the community it serves through strategic partnerships and/or coalition efforts.
