Community Commons is an interactive resource that allows users to generate maps and data reports on a variety of topics, including public health, food access, and environmental factors.
While there is a wealth of searchable data sources, some recommended Community Commons tools include:
- Visualizing Wellbeing: Humane Housing. To create conditions for community wellbeing we must look back – at continuing, historic influences – and forward – to the major forces that shape current and future priorities. The Visualizing Wellbeing series explores the state of wellbeing in the United States through a collection of data visualizations.
- Interactive Map: State and County Dashboard. Source: US Census Bureau, American Community Survey (ACS). Shows ACS data as a comparison across county, state, and national geographies and allows for margin of error displays.
- Interactive Map: Access and Utilization of Early Childhood Education Facilities. Source: US Department of Health & Human Services, Administration for Children and Families. Shows locations of Head Start facilities and population enrollment of children in school.
