The Turning Point Community Champion Award Program recognizes initiatives, projects or events in Oklahoma that contribute to health improvement and quality of life in the community it serves through strategic partnerships and/or coalition efforts. Read on for details about how this event was developed and the many partners involved in making it a success.

Fourth Friday in the Park was an all-ages park event that taught community members how small changes can have a BIG impact! The goals of the event were to: 1) Introduce community members to different modes of physical activity appropriate for all ages and abilities; 2) educate community members about implementing local fresh produce in their daily diet and the basics of MyPlate; and 3) provide evidence to community leadership that tobacco-free events on government property are well attended and desired.
